Sectional Results 2007
Weather was probably the biggest headline in the first two weeks of sectional play with several sectional final rounds being postponed because of storms whacking the northeast on Sunday the 15th. In the open division, the sectional winners decided so far are as follows; LSU, James Madison, U. Mich, Stanford, Illinois, Kansas, UCSB, Texas, British Columbia, Iowa State. WHat happened to the small schools? Stanford and JMU with enrollments of 15,000 and 17,000 respectively don't exactly qualify. Each of the others have enrollments of mid-size surburban towns. British Columbia? Forget it, 42,000. In years past, plenty of small schools made the final ranks in the sectional and regional qualifiers. Anyone have any theories as to why the current trend?
